The Lynx Group has created this privacy policy to demonstrate its commitment to fully disclosing the information collection and use practices applicable to our Sites. Defined terms used in the Privacy Policy and not otherwise defined shall have the meaning ascribed to them in our Terms of Use located on our Sites.

1.  Types of Information and Method of Collection

TLG collects information that users provide through registration on our Sites for some services and through users use of the Site. This may include personal information (i.e. information that can identify individuals, such as name, address, telephone number, email address, and social media accounts and/or usernames), or non-personally identifiable Information (i.e. information that is not traced back to and not used on its own to identify an individual) through tracking systems depending on the Service being used by you. We may combine the collected non-personally identifiable information with personal information, and the non-personally identifiable Information may become personal information. The tracking systems include deriving data by tallying page views throughout the Site, and capturing information on the type of browser being used to view the Site, tracking what pages you have visited while on the Site, tracking mobile application downloads, and, in market research studies, tracking what computers respond to a survey. This information enables us to better provide Services and content and to respond to our users' needs. It also is used to help our advertisers and sponsors to better understand the demographics of our audience.

Registration

We offer some Services that require registration. For the registration process, we may collect information such as, name, address, telephone number, email address, and professional information. The type of information required will depend upon the service you are accessing. Registration will provide you with choices regarding the types of membership updates, newsletters, event invitations, marketing and promotional materials, and other information that we send to registered users. For certain professional market research programs, information about children and/or other categories of sensitive information is only collected with explicit consent and is protected against improper use, consistent with applicable law. By registering with us, you agree that we may send you emails and other communications regarding information specific to our Service(s) or other opportunities we may provide at any given time. You may remove yourself from a mailing list at any time by clicking the opt-out or unsubscribe links at the bottom of every email we send you, and following the instructions.

Chat Rooms, Forums, Message Boards, and News Groups

You may be provided a forum where you can share information with other users and have a free exchange of ideas. Some of these forums may include, but are not limited to, our social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These discussions are open to the public and are not considered private. Any and all information that you provide on a forum of any kind is public and may be collected by us and/or by third parties. Users of any forums should take care when posting any personal information in a public forum.

Research

You may be invited to participate in research studies for us to meet the mission and vision of TLG as a whole, or the individual Sites owned by TLG. You may also be invited to participate in market research studies and market research surveys conducted on behalf of third-party sponsors either by us or a third-party. In addition to providing your answers to the survey questions, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information that may be combined with information that you have already provided at registration or that we have received from a third-party source.

Continuing Education

By participating in Continuing Education (CME) activity through our Sites, you may be asked to provide personal information including, but not limited to name, address, telephone number, degree or certification, occupation or title, email address, company or organization, average number of patients per week, and year license is obtained.

Cookies and Web Beacons

A cookie is a small text file that resides only on your own computer and that can be accessed only by the server that originally created the cookie. Cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies enable us to understand how visitors use our Sites, help us improve the Site/s for both users and advertisers, and customize the contents, offerings, services, and advertisements that you may access from our Site.  Additionally, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (i.e. a “DoubleClick” cookie) to serve third-party ads based on your prior visits to the Site. You can disable or turn off cookies or third-party cookies like the DoubleClick cookie in your web browser. You can also opt out of the use of cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising, by visiting Ad Settings. Some of our Services will not function properly if your browser does not accept cookies.

2. How Information Collected is Used

We may use your information for any business purpose as allowed by law, including, but not limited to, corresponding with you, providing announcements, offering or delivering products and/or services, personalizing the types of information you receive from us, assessing trends in your use of the Sites, developing content and functionality that helps us better serve you, improving the services we provide and engaging in advertising and marketing activities.

Some examples of the ways in which we may use your information are listed below:

  • To respond to your questions, comments and/or suggestions, or any information per your request;
  • To provide the services or subscription, which you opted to receive;
  • To contact you regarding conferences, CE activities, news, or other helpful resources;
  • To send and manage educational outcomes measurement surveys;
  • To advise you of products and/or services that may be available;
  • To notify you about maintenance, updates, and new features on out Site(s);
  • To contact you as needed to address a suspected breach of the Terms and Conditions of Use, this Privacy Policy, or any other rules or policies applicable to the Sites;
  • To inform you of significant changes to this Privacy Policy;
  • To confirm or fulfill purchase and registration requests;
  • To display content, which we think may be of interest to you and subsequently help us customize what you see when you visit the Website;
  • To ask your feedback in order for us to assess user-satisfaction or other needs and interests;

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of the Services that we offer, both for our users and advertisers or sponsors;

Conference Attendance and Continuing Education

When register to attend conferences and/or when you elect to request credit for completing a Continuing Education (CE) activity through the Services, you will be asked for submit personally identifiable information as is required to process the request. This includes, but not limited to, your name, mailing address, telephone number, email and your occupation. Information that you provide in connection with your attendance in conferences and participation in CE activities, either when registering or requesting credit, may be used in several ways, such as:

  • To provide necessary reporting to the appropriate monitoring bodies and involved providers. These reports may include personally identifiable information about you and credits issued to you;
  • To study the conferences and CE activities, and identify its effectiveness and understand educational needs; and
  • To address to your suggestions, comments and questions.

We also collect non-personally identifiable information about the activities of conference attendants and CE participants.

Research

When participating in such a survey, in addition to providing your responses to the survey questions, you may be asked to provide personally identifiable information that may be combined with information that you have already provided at registration or that we have received from a third-party source. These studies are intended to give specific anonymous feedback to third parties as described in the "Sharing of the Information" section of this Privacy Policy. The information you submit in a survey may be used by for research and measurement purposes, including to measure the effectiveness of content, programs and advertising.

Marketing & Advertising

We may use the information provided by you or obtained from third-party sources to target advertising and our marketing communications to your needs, interest, demographic information, and geographic location. We may provide advertisements to you within our Sites based on information that our advertisers have collected from third sources and with the use of cookies.

3. With Whom Information is Shared

TLG may share your personally identifiable information with others for various purposes. The following outlines the ways in which your information may be shared with others:

Agents, Tools, Plug-ins and Online Software

We may employ other businesses, certain services, and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. A non-exhaustive list of examples includes fulfilling orders, sending email, event management, removing repetitive information from customer lists, website analysis, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer service. These may have access to personally identifiable information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes. In an effort to protect you, the agents, tools and online software that have access to personally identifiable information either (a) must operate and use your personally identifiable information in a manner consistent with the current Privacy Policy, or (b) are subject to contractual obligations to maintain such information confidential subject to certain exceptions. However, each of the agents, tools and online software operate independently from TLG, and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other companies.

Event Notifications and Invitations

We may send you notifications and invitations to conferences, awards ceremonies, online webinars and other events both hosted by us or where we are in attendance as guests, sponsors, exhibitors and/or speakers. We utilize third-party email marketing tools for the delivery of such notifications and invitations electronically. On the other hand, registrations and/or sign-ups for such events are collected by a third-party event management software, which have their own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of the companies.

Promotional Offers

We may send offers to you on behalf of other partners and our sponsors. When we do this, we will do so per your request and we will not give that partner or sponsor your name and address. You may opt out to receive such offers or change the frequency in which you receive them by clicking on the op-out or unsubscribe link in a promotional email.

Aggregate Information

We may share aggregate information such as demographics and Site usage statistics to advertisers, sponsors, or other organizations. When this type of information is shared, the other parties do not have access to your personally identifiable information.

Opt-in and Opt-out Programs

Throughout the Sites, you may be presented with opportunities to receive special offers and mailings from third parties or TLG. An opt-in/opt-out message may ask you if you would like your information to be shared. If you do choose to have your information shared, in an effort to protect you, third parties who have access to personally identifiable information must abide by the current TLG Privacy Policy. However, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other companies, and you should review their respective Privacy Policy notices prior to providing your personally identifiable information. If you would not like your information to be shared to third parties, or if you would like to stop receiving special offers and mailings from third parties or TLG, you may opt out.

Third-Party Software, Ad Serving & Audience and Traffic Measurement Services

TLG may use a third-party network advertiser to serve the advertisements on the Site(s) or may use a traffic measurement service to analyze the traffic on the Site(s). Network advertisers are third parties that display advertisements based on your visits to this our Site(s) and other websites you have visited. Third-party ad serving enables us to target advertisements to you for products, services or websites you might be interested in. Audience and traffic measurement services allow us to collect anonymous traffic and behavior information from our Site(s) by monitoring anonymous visitor activity. Although advertisers or other companies do not have access to the Site(s) cookies, the advertisers, sponsors, and/or traffic measurement services may themselves set and access their own cookies on your computer if you choose to have your cookies enabled in your browser. Cookies allow third-party advertisers to show you advertisements or content you might be interested in. Other companies' use of their cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, and is TLG is not responsible for their practices.

Internet Advertising and Online Marketing Tools

For all intents and purposes, we may collect personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable through internet marketing tools including, but not limited to, Google® Analytics, Bing® and Google® Webmaster Tools, Google® Tag Manager, Google® DoubleClick for Publishers, and our social media accounts. Additional tools include email marketing software, event management software, online survey development cloud-based software.

TLG Subsidiaries and Affiliates

We may share your information with subsidiaries and affiliates, including, without limitation, personally identifiable information.  Our subsidiaries and affiliates will use your personally identifiable information in a manner consistent with the current Privacy Policy.

Business Transfers

TLG and/or a subsidiary, affiliate, or division of TLG may be sold along with its assets, or other transactions may occur in which your personally identifiable information is one of the business assets transferred. In such a case, your personally identifiable information, which we have gathered with your consent, may be one of the business assets we transfer.

Legal Process

In the event we are required to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, your personally identifiable information may be disclosed pursuant to such subpoena, court order, or legal process, which may be without notice to you.

Program and Market Research Studies

TLG may invite you to participate in research studies that can further develop the programs offered by the Site(s) and/or are sponsored or unsponsored market research studies. The market research studies are intended to give specific anonymous feedback to third parties. When you take part in such market research studies, your identity as a participant may be shared, but your contact information will not be disclosed and your answers will remain anonymous. Collected information for both studies will not be shared in a manner that is correlated to your personally identifiable information.  However, if you receive any form of compensation or CE credit for your participation, we may be required to share your personal information for their necessary documentation and bookkeeping records and reporting requirements of the sponsors.

Sponsored Programs

We encourage you to support growth and development of the Site(s) and Services by participating in industry-supported programs offered on or through the Site(s) and Services. When you participate in industry-supported programs you agree that your name, profession, geographic location, and the content you participate in along with any information you chose to provide, can be shared with the industry sponsor. Participation in these programs is purely voluntary.

Advertisers

We may provide your personal information and/or non-personally identifiable information with our current or prospective advertisers and other business partners. This may include your name, profession, telephone number, email address, and/or some information so that the advertiser may evaluate your engagement as well as the performance of its campaign. We are not responsible for how advertisers and other third-party agents, plug-ins, tools and software may use your information and manage your privacy.

Continuing Education

We may share your limited personal information, which you have given us consent to collect, to third parties who and/or manage non-CE symposia held in conjunction with our conferences. We may share your personal information with the accreditors of our continuing education programs. We may also provide your information to third parties who exhibit at our conferences. Third-party vendors are prohibited from using non-personally identifiable information or limited personally identifiable information contained in pre-registration and attendee lists to: engage in activities that would violate any fiduciary or contractual relationship; any applicable local, state, national, or international law; or any regulations having the force of law, including but not limited to operating an illegal lottery or gambling operation, stalking or making threats of harm; transmit content that is inaccurate, harmful, obscene, pornographic, defamatory, racist, violent, offensive, or harassing; causes duress, distress, or discomfort to another; otherwise objectionable to TLG or the conference sponsor; violates or infringes anyone's intellectual property rights; constitutes electioneering, such as exhortations to vote for or against any candidate for public office; is misleading, incomplete, or incorrect related to any aspect of cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care; implies a relationship with or endorsement of TLG; or solicits for any for-profit venture, operation, or effort.

4. Third-party Links, Web Sites and Cookies

TLG may provide links to third-party websites and resources. Such links are provided as a supplement to our content and for informational purposes only for your convenience. We do not endorse these third-party websites, nor are we responsible for their availability, content, delivery of products and services, terms of use and privacy policies as we cannot control them. Third-party websites and resources are not bound by this Privacy Policy. They may have their own privacy practices in place or none at all. We encourage you to read third-party websites' privacy policies.

5. Opt-in List Privacy Policy

When you register with us, you may be prompted to opt-in to additional Service(s). By opting-in, you agree to receive information relevant to the Service you selected, whether it is sent directly by us or sent by us on behalf of our advertisers. You may choose to opt-out at any time by clicking opt-out or unsubscribe and following instructions at the end of an email. 

6. Opting Out

TLG is dedicated to providing privacy on the Internet. If you wish to opt out of our sharing your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy for marketing purposes, or have any questions regarding how TLG is protecting your privacy, please contact us at csupport@the-lynx-group.com or at the address below.  

You may opt-out of any and all of our email communications at any time by clicking the opt-out or unsubscribe link and following the instructions contained at the end of every email you receive from us. If you no longer wish to use our Site and/or Services, or to receive any information from us, you may request to have your personal information removed from our databases by sending a request to csupport@the-lynx-group.com with “Opt-Out of Emails” as your subject. Include your names and email address with which you originally registered. Changes or corrections to your information may be submitted in the same fashion.

7. International Users

TLG is headquartered in the United States. Our Site(s) and Service(s) are hosted and administered in the United States or hosted with cloud service providers who are headquartered in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, be aware that information you provide to us or that we obtain as a result of your use of our Site(s) and Service(s) may be processed in, transferred to and stored in the United States and will be subject to U.S. law. U.S. privacy and data protection laws may not be equivalent to the laws of your country of residence. By using our Site(s) and Service(s), or providing us with your information, you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, and processing of information to and in the United States.

8. California Privacy Rights

TLG does not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes unless you affirmatively agree to such disclosure, typically by "opting in" to receive information from a third-party that is participating in a promotion on one of our sites, for example. If you ask us to share your personal information with a third-party for its marketing purposes, we will only share information in connection with that specific promotion since we do not share information with any third-party (other than our service providers) on an ongoing basis. To prevent disclosure of your personal information for use in direct marketing by a third-party, do not "opt in" to such use when you provide personal information on one of our sites.

Users residing in certain jurisdictions, like California, have a right to access personal information held by us about them and their right of access can be exercised in accordance with applicable law. California law requires certain businesses to respond to requests from California residents asking about the business's practices related to disclosing personal information to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. Alternately, such businesses may have in place a policy not to disclose personal information of customers to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes if the resident has exercised an option to opt-out of such information-sharing.

9. Children's Privacy

TLG is committed to protecting the privacy of children. The Site(s) and Services are designed and intended for use by adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any person under the age of thirteen (13).  Accordingly, TLG requests that individuals under the age of thirteen (13) not provide information or date to TLG through the Site(s) or any other form of communication.  As part of our commitment to protect the privacy needs of children, TLG also encourages parents/guardians to employ any and all parental tools available to monitor their children’s online activities. 

10. Security and Encryption

We use SSL encryption technology on our Site(s) and a secure server to encrypt information transmitted between your browsers and our server. As a result, data you submit to our Site(s) such as personally identifiable information, credit card data, and social security information are transmitted using commercially reasonable security.

Only those employees who need access to your information to perform their jobs are allowed access. Our security policies are reviewed periodically and revised as required. The servers for the Site(s) that contain personally identifiable information are stored in a physically secure and climate-controlled off-site facility. We protect against data loss by backing-up data, performing consistency checks, and restricting access to information on our servers. It is important to remember that whatever you transmit or disclose online can be collected and used by others or unlawfully intercepted by third parties.

While TLG will maintain the security of collected personally identifiable information, and protect the integrity of such information with a commercially reasonable degree of care, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online. We do not make any express or implied warranty that we will be able to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access to, or alteration of information you provide to us. Any and all information you choose to share with us are at your own risk. We urge you to take every precaution to protect your information when you are on the internet, including when visiting the Site.

11. Market Research

Our Market Research entity, "Real Time Marketing Intelligence (RTMi), is committed to serving the industry by providing market research in the healthcare business space.

RTMi will respect the legal requirements that exist regarding the privacy of personally identifiable information and we are committed to complying with all applicable law. RTMi will, from time to time, review its personally identifiable information collection, use, and disclosure practices in order to assure compliance with laws and regulations.

Regarding personally identifiable information and other data collected for an in any market research activity in which you may elect to participate, we will maintain procedures consistent with applicable law for individuals to gain access to their collected personally identifiable information and, when appropriate, correct any information that is inaccurate or incomplete, change their individual consent level, or have their PII deleted.

We will contractually require others who acquire or provide personally identifiable information from or to us, including those engaged to provide support services, at a minimum, to adopt and comply with the principles and objectives of this policy.

We will publish the procedures for verifying compliance and responding to complaints regarding potential deviations from its established procedures for protecting personally identifiable information.

12. Notification of Changes

TLG reserves the right, at any time and without notice, to add to, change, update, or modify our Privacy Policy, simply by posting such change, update, or modification on the Site(s). If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we may notify you by an email or some other means. Your continued use of the Site(s) shall constitute your acceptance of such revised Privacy Policy. Since this Privacy Policy may change from time to time, you should review it periodically and specifically before you provide any additional personally identifiable information.

By using our Site(s), you signify your acceptance of the terms of the TLG Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site(s), products, and/or services and exit the site immediately.

14. Your Rights

As a user of our Site(s) and Service(s), you have the following rights:

  • Right to access your personal data;
  • Right to rectification of your personal data held when it is incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate;
  • Right to be forgotten, which means the erasure of your personal data, if certain grounds are met;
  • Right to restrict/suspend processing of your personal data;
  • Right to complain to a supervisory authority;
  • Right of data portability, if processing of information is based on consent and automated means;
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time;
  • Right to object to processing for direct marketing and/or other purposes.
