Hodgkin lymphoma is an extremely rare hematologic cancer that affects lymphocytes and the lymphatic system. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 8500 individuals in the United States will be diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2018, and approximately 1050 patients will die from the disease.1 How much do you know about Hodgkin lymphoma?

Hodgkin lymphoma, different from non-Hodgkin lymphoma, occurs mainly in individuals aged 16 to 34 years and in individuals aged >55 years.2 Although it is a rare cancer, the overall survival rate of all patients with Hodgkin lymphoma is approximately 86%, with 90% to 95% of children with Hodgkin lymphoma being cured.1,3 Public awareness of Hodgkin lymphoma needs to remain a priority to improve survival rates and quality of life in patients diagnosed with the disease.
