One in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lives. Although only 1 in 10,000 men aged 40 years will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, the rate rises to 1 in 39 for those aged 40 to 59 years, and 1 in 14 for those aged 60 to 69 years. Public awareness of effective strategies for preventing, diagnosing, and treating prostate cancer needs to be a priority to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with the disease.
